Many people think of teachers as the ones who give\u2014
the ones who share knowledge and teach skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But
along my journey as a teacher,
I have learned far more from my students
than I could ever have imagined.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Teaching is not a one-way journey.
It is a gentle exchange in which we inspire and illuminate one another.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Some students learn quickly,
while others need a little more time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I used to be impatient,
hoping everyone could move forward at the same pace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But over time, I came to understand\u2014 Every student has their own rhythm, I began to wait for them with greater patience and gentleness. A student's eyes can sometimes speak more honestly than words.<\/p>\n\n\n\n When they feel unsure, I began to observe my students more carefully, My students taught me that teaching is not only about what we say\u2014 Many students come to class carrying doubts about themselves: But sometimes, all it takes is for me to gently say, My students have taught me that And I hope that I can always be\nthat ray of light for someone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Some students come to floral design classes to find relief from the pressures of work. Everyone who chooses to step into my classroom a story they may never put into words. I used to think that I was simply teaching floral design and Japanese. slower does not mean less effort;
faster does not mean better.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
their own way of learning,
and their own time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And somewhere along the way,
I learned to give myself that same patience too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

their eyes wander.
When they understand,
their eyes brighten.
When they feel nervous,
their gaze becomes more focused.

and something in them begins to light up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
a simple word of encouragement
can change the course of someone's entire day.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some study Japanese because they are fascinated by the language and culture.
Some come because they are looking for a way to heal.
And some simply want to become a better version of themselves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once I came to understand this,
I learned to meet them with greater understanding,
greater acceptance,\nand greater compassion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But my students helped me realise\u2014
I was also walking alongside them through a part of their lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I became a source of reassurance;
when they were working hard,
I became a source of support;
when they made a breakthrough,
I became someone who witnessed their growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
