《Teaching and Creating: Where Two Gentle Rhythms Meet》
Sometimes, I feel as though I live between two gentle rhythms.
One is the focus and connection of teaching.
The other is the quiet reflection of creating.
Though they seem different,
they gently intertwine in the spaces between time.
In my Japanese lessons, I listen carefully to my students' voices.
Someone sincerely says, 「ありがとうございます。」
Someone proudly speaks their first complete sentence.
At those moments, I cannot help but smile.
Because language is more than something we learn—
it is a form of courage.
Every pronunciation, every glance,
feels like a flower beginning to bloom,
filled with the quiet strength of life.
When I return to my floral workspace,
everything becomes peaceful again.
With my pruning scissors in hand,
I trim each branch and adjust every leaf,
watching a floral arrangement slowly take shape.
That quiet concentration
feels like arranging the rhythm within my own heart.
The warmth of teaching and the stillness of creating
naturally bring balance to one another.
I often think,
perhaps the most beautiful way to live
is to discover harmony between teaching and creating.
Teaching encourages me to connect with the world.
Creating invites me to listen to myself.
One allows gentle words to blossom.
The other records the colours of the soul through flowers.
Sometimes a student asks me,
"Teacher, you're always so busy. Why do you always smile so warmly?"
I simply smile and reply, "Because every day I am surrounded by beauty—
the beauty of flowers, language, and people."
Teaching and creating
are like two rivers flowing side by side,
meeting quietly
to become a gentle melody in everyday life.
They remind me
that as long as there is light within our hearts,
every day
can become a gentle work of art.
