《Learning in the Morning Light: From Language to the Warmth of Everyday Life》
The morning sunlight gently streams through the window,
falling softly across my notebook and the vase beside it.
This is my favourite time of day—
a quiet moment to prepare my lessons while admiring a bouquet of delicate pink flowers.
Light, language, and flowers
all seem to flow together in peaceful harmony.
There is a beautiful Japanese word:
「気づく」 (kizuku)
It means "to notice" or "to become aware."
Learning a language is, in many ways,
a practice of becoming aware.
Just as in floral design,
we learn to notice the direction of each stem,
the balance of every branch,
and the harmony of the whole arrangement.
This quiet attentiveness
is also the foundation of a beautiful life.
Language connects me with the world.
Floral design connects me with myself.
In this little corner,
bathed in the gentle morning light,
I have come to appreciate
two different kinds of stillness—
the peaceful pauses between words,
and the quiet bloom of every flower.
Perhaps learning and living
have always been the same journey.
